About the event
100 Holton Street brings you an Artisan's Assylum/Boston Fencing Club crossover event celebrating movement and athleticism during the Paris 2024 Olympics. Beginning at 10am, Boston Fencing Club will be live streaming the Women's Sabre team matches from the Paris Olympics. From 11am-1pm, Jim Bredt will be teaching a figures-in-motion drawing class, with Boston Fencing Club athletes acting as live models. Figures in motion is pure gesture drawing. After a few warmup exercises we will sketch the energy and flow of the fencers as they perform movements like lunges, parries, and attacks. This will be a fun experience for beginners and experts alike!
Stick around after the class for more Olympic fencing, as the Women's Sabre Team finals will be streamed until approximately 2pm. This class is appropriate for all experience levels in drawing/fencing, including those who are new to both/either. This class is suited for drawers aged 13+.
