Pomme de Terre

The Boston Fencing Club would like to thank all of the parents, children, and members who volunteered to run the referee room at the Pomme de Terre this year. This event represents one of the major fund raisers each year to help defer the cost of sending coaches to Summer Nationals. A special note of thanks to Lee Ann Desai who organized the effort, stocked the room and made sure it ran smoothly each day.

The food and refreshment is always appreciated by the referees and is a major reason why the Pomme attracts such high caliber referees each year. It was as a direct result of Lee Ann's hard work and dedication that the referees were well fed and hydrated each day. As we look forward to next year we hope that we will have even more volunteers to help out in this great event.

Boston Fencing Club was represented by almost fifty athletes competing in fourteen events over two days. They battled opponents, gear, and oppressive heat; producing nine individuals finishing in the top eight of thier events! Many hours of hard work at practice, coupled with great effort on the strip, and supported by team mates, coaches, and parents showed in excellent results for this years event.
